Football season has just started and we all know what that means: football, beer pong, and tailgating. Everyone gets really excited around the beginning of the football season. If you don’t know what I’m talking about or if you’re asking yourself ‘what is he doing with a football shaped garden gnome?’ Then sit back relax and find out what’s in store for this football shaped garden gnome.
1) Use him as a garden gnome
This is probably the most popular thing that people do with their football shaped garden gnome. They use them for all sorts of things like putting them on top of your car to show your team spirit or putting one beside your front door so everyone will know where your allegiances lie. Some people even go the extra mile and make their own custom football shaped garden gnome like the one in the example photo above.
2) Use him as a beer pong player
Alternatively, you could use your football shaped garden gnome to play beer pong. Place it on top of any surface (preferably an even surface like a table) and fill up the cups with beer then use the football shaped garden gnome as your game piece to move around. It would even make for a great drinking game where players have to take shots every time they miss their shot! Now that’s what I call an epic tailgating party.
3) Use him as a decoration at your tailgate party
You could also use your football shaped garden gnome as decoration for your tailgate party. Hang him from the ladder of your pick-up truck or frame him with some team colors so everyone will know where you stand. You can even paint his face to look like one of your favorite players, it’s really up to you how creative you want to get with your football shaped garden gnome.
4) Tackle him!
I have to admit this one was my favorite way of using the football shaped garden gnome when I was a kid. My friends and I would try our best to tackle each other when we were all running in opposite directions. It’s pretty much just like playing football except you’re playing it with a garden gnome instead. If your football shaped garden gnome is made out of a hard plastic you might want to be careful not to hurt yourself while tackling him, but if he’s soft and plushy then feel free to give him everything you’ve got.
5) Use him as a toy
Some people might think that using a football shaped garden gnome as a toy is sacrilege since he’s suppose to be put in your yard for decoration, but I thought it was pretty cool when I was younger. My mom would always buy my brother and me the biggest most elaborate football shaped garden gnomes with all sorts of accessories. It was really fun when we were kids and we would play with them like they were action figures. I would always be the quarterback and run around in circles while my brother was the receiver and he’d pass me the football shaped garden gnome.
